1. Warm up – Introduction of Christmas + song (10 mins)

Steps:
1. Show some pictures of different natural landscape Vocabulary from the book and introduce a little about different places they have been to.
2. Play the song and discuss with students about “How to say “Hello” in different languages?” after the video.

2. Story time – Read the story / Sing Along (45 mins)

Steps:
Step 1: Ask some wh-questions from the book cover:
1. What color do you see? Do you see this kind of place in Taiwan?
2. What do you see?
3. Do you see this kind of place in Taiwan?
4. This place is called a desert. Do you think it’s far from us?
5. What animals or plants you may see there?
Step 2:Introduce the vocabulary on P.51.
Read and explain the meaning of each word to students. Make sure they know the meaning and then create a game on WordWall, have students match the word to the pictures.


Step 3: Play the audio of the story first time. Ask some questions before proceeding to the next page.
For example: Questions on P.52:

1. Where are Peppa and her family?
2. What happened to their car?
3. Whose aeroplane is it?
4. Who would fix their car?
Step 4: Read and ask students to repeat after the story by Live Pen.
3. Activities Fun & Games (on book) + Games (5 min) - (20 mins)
Steps:
Step 1:
  • Show all “Fun & Games” pages to discuss the story with students.  
  • Review and discuss about the answers.
Step 2:
1. Teacher prepares or copy the places (desert, jungle, mountain, South Pole, park) pictures.
2. Teacher prepares Peppa’s friends’ pictures (Pedro, Captain Dog and Danny, Emily and Edmond, Suzy.)
3. Teacher tells a story, for example: Their final stop is the South Pole. Suzy is their watching penguins. She is a bit lonely and is very happy to see Peppa. They play with the penguins for a while and then Peppa says goodby to Suzy. (This story is shown on P.60-61) Students have to find the picture – South Pole and their friend – Suzy.
4. Practice this game for a wrap-up activity helps teachers to better understand if students know the story outline.
4. Wrap up – Ask some wrap up questions (5 mins)
Steps:
  • Ask some wrap up questions and discuss the answers with students. For example,
  1. How do Peppa and her family travel around the world?
  2. Do you see monkeys play in the jungle?
  3. Do you ever climb mountains? Where? If not, which mountain would you like to climb?
  4. Where do lizards live?
  5. Do you know what penguins eat?
