Suggested Teaching Procedure:
Stage | Content | Time |
|
5 mins | |

|
30 mins | |
Ask some wrap up questions | 5 mins |
- Steps:
- Ask students some warm up questions. For example,
- Do you like to go to the zoo?
- What is your favorite animal?
- Which animal is the most honest in your mind?
- Play the song for the first time then do the animal dance with students for the second time.
- Ask some leading questions from the first page of the story. For example:
- What animal do you see in the picture?
- What is the dog carrying on its back?
- Where is the dog going?
3. Play the audio of the story sentence by sentence by Live Pen and ask students to repeat. The teacher can flip the pages while reading the story.

3. Activities-Role play + Games + Make and do (30 mins)
Steps:
- The teacher can choose some pages of the story and pick some students be the characters of the story. Students may make their own words from the story. Encourage some students to perform some parts of the story in front of the class.
- Games (support the front line)-The teacher can write down different items from the classroom (ex. ten blue pens) on couple small pieces of paper ahead. Then put those pieces of paper into a black bag. Divide the class into three teams. Then the teacher picks one piece of paper from the bag randomly. Each team needs to collect and get the specific items the teacher tells in limited time. The team collects all the items fast and correctly gets the point.
- Make and do (origami-dog)-The teacher prepares some pieces of colored paper according to the numbers of students first. Play and watch the video with students together. Then lead students to fold the paper step by step.
Steps:
- Ask some wrap up questions. For example,
- Do you lend things to your classmates?
- Do your classmates return things back to you?
- When do you borrow things from your classmates?
- Do you take good care of your classmates’ things?
- Why is it important to return things back after we finish using?
