Teaching Procedure (50 mins):
1. Warm up - Lead-in questions & Song 1“Christmas Story: Birth of Jesus Christ” by Mocomi Kids
- Ask these warm-up questions and have the students share their answers alternatively. (Answers may be varied.)
- Play the song and have students observe the characters.
- Ask them who is the baby in the video.
- Introduce Christmas as Jesus’s birthday based on the warm-up questions.
2. Vocabulary - Poster telling & Game
a. Poster-telling vocabularies
▲Steps:
- Teacher shows the poster to the students and ask what they see in the picture.
- Read the words from the list and discuss where they can find it on the poster.
- Separate the students into 2 groups and number them.
- Teacher shows the question individually to the number 1.
- They need to write down/shout the words after the teacher counts to 3.
- Alternatively have different students to the front, there will be 6 questions in total.
3. Activity - DIY Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree Ornaments
“Hello, Reindeer” by Super Simple Song
▲Steps:
- Play the song first and prompt students to observe the roles in the song.
- Introduce different roles in the video: reindeer, snowman, Santa, and everyone.
- Prompt the students to practice the lyrics with gestures and sing together.
