Teaching Procedure (50 mins):

“Christmas Story: Birth of Jesus Christ” by Mocomi Kids

• Ask these warm-up questions and have the students share their answers alternatively. (Answers may be varied.)
• Play the song and have students observe the characters.
• Ask them who is the baby in the video.
• Introduce Christmas as Jesus’s birthday based on the warm-up questions.

2. Vocabulary - Poster telling & Game

▲Steps:

• Teacher shows the poster to the students and ask what they see in the picture.
• Read the words from the list and discuss where they can find it on the poster.

b. Game: Vocabulary guessing game

• Separate the students into 2 groups and number them.
• Teacher shows the question individually to the number 1.
• They need to write down/shout the words after the teacher counts to 3.
• Alternatively have different students to the front, there will be 6 questions in total.

3. Activity - DIY Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree Ornaments

• Play the song first and prompt students to observe the roles in the song.
• Introduce different roles in the video: reindeer, snowman, Santa, and everyone.
• Prompt the students to practice the lyrics with gestures and sing together.

Halloween Activity

Teaching Procedure (50 mins):

• Play the song first and teacher motivates students by doing the facial expression in the video.
• Introduce different emotions in the video: happy, angry, scared, and sad.
• Prompt the students to practice the lyrics with facial expressions and sing together.

Steps:

• Teacher shows the poster to the students and ask what they see in the picture.
• Read the words from the list and discuss where they can find it on the poster.

• Play the song first and prompt students to observe the actions of the pumpkins.
• Introduce different actions in the video: smiling, pouting, yawning, and crying.
• Prompt the students to practice the lyrics with facial expressions and sing together.

Thanksgiving Activity

Teaching Procedure (35 mins):

 

Steps:

• Ask the lead-in questions and have students answer alternatively.
• Write down their answers for Question 2 on the board to create a mind map.

2. Festival story – video and discussions (15 mins)
a. Thanksgiving Story

• Teacher plays the video and have students note down keywords they hear about Thanksgiving.
• Pause the video if they don’t understand.
